  • 260 g wholemeal flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 6 g yeast
  • 180 ml water
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Step-by-step cooking method

  1. Place the sugar and yeast in a bowl with 2 tablespoons of flour. Add a little warm water. Stir until mixed thoroughly and leave to rest for 10 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the salt and flour while you gradually add the water and oil. Finally, add the yeast mixture from earlier.
  3. Knead thoroughly for between 8 and 10 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a bowl greased with olive oil.
  5. Cover with a dry cloth and leave to prove for 45 minutes.
  6. Divide the dough into portions of your preferred size and leave to prove for a further 30 minutes.
  7. Place the portions on baking paper and insert into the fryer to cook for 20 minutes. Increase the time if you think it’s necessary.
