  • 1 kg chopped chicken breast
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 large beaten eggs
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup + 1 tablespoon cornflour
  • Olive oil
  • 1+ ½ cup orange juice
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon ginger, freshly chopped
  • ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • Chives
  • Toasted sesame seeds

Step-by-step cooking method

  1. Season the chicken with salt and pepper and dip it into the beaten egg and then into the mixture of flour and cornflour.
  2. Spray the chicken with oil and cook in the fryer, stirring halfway through cooking, until it is golden and properly cooked. Set the chicken aside in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix the orange juice, brown sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and 1 tablespoon of cornflour.
  4. Heat oil in a small saucepan and fry the garlic, ginger and red pepper, stirring thoroughly. Add the previous mixture and leave to simmer until it thickens and slowly reduce. Add the sesame oil and stir.
  5. Pour the orange sauce into the bowl of chicken and stir to mix thoroughly.
  6. Sprinkle with the chives and sesame seeds to serve.
